To access the Media Center subscription databases:
Go to the BRRHS home page: http://www.brrsd.net/curric/HS/library/index.html
On Left sidebar - Select HS Library
You will be directed to the BRRHS Library Webpage, where you can view a list of all the Subscription Databases. Click on the link to the database that you want to search and enter the User ID and Password in the login page.

NEW!!eLibrary Curriculum History ModuleSelect the "History" tab (History Study Center). Select the "Study Units" tab in the Right sidebar. Type in a "keyword" or choose to "Browse Study Units." Scroll down to the "American History" link. Select the appropriate time period. Scroll through the various articles listed. Citation is available through the "Cite This" tab.
ABC-CLIO US History & Government & Modern World History: Enter your search term in the search box and check the areas you wish to search (History, Government, or Modern World History). Click on the link under "Search Results" to view the articles retrieved. You can filter your results by checking the appropriate box on the left side of the page (narratives, images, maps, events, etc.) and clicking the "Filter My Results" button at the bottom of the list. You will find the MLA citation format at the end of the article.
History Reference Center: Highlight the "timeline" dates that are appropriate for your search (Shift/click to highlight more than one time period). Select "Full text" to limit results to complete articles. Citation information is available by clicking "Citation" link.
American National Biographies: Provides information on deceased Americans only. You can type a person's name in the Quick Search box, or browse by alphabetical listing of a name (use the "Browse" tab at the top of the page). You can also use the Advanced Search option (click on the "Search" tab at the top of the page) to search by additional criteria and characteristics (e.g., ethnicity, occupation, birth date).
Citation information is included at the end of the article, but you need to insure that it is in the proper MLA format.
Biography Resource Center:Provides information on living and deceased persons of both American and International heritage.
You can search using the quick "Search by Name" box, but make sure that you click the appropriate button below to define the approach of the search (i.e., Name Contains, or Start of Last Name). You can also Browse categories or use the Advanced Search to combine terms (i.e., use Boolean Operators).
Facts on File: Look at the History databases, American History, American Womens' History, African American History, American Indian History. Type your search term(s) in the search box. When you review your results, notice that there are several tabs (located above the results) that provide categories for the information retrieved. You may select the type of information you are interested in by category (biographies, primary sources, etc.)
At the end of the article under "Citation Information" you will find the elements that you will need to format an MLA citation.
